What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Ark of God Canada based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. We believe the bible is the inspired, only infallible and authoritative Word of God.  
All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of this living word and embraces the apostolic doctrines
in Acts Chapter 2.

We believe in one God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable, and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creation. When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were created to be and became distorted images of God. They lost their position and intimate relationship with God, and all of creation was fractured.

God has revealed himself to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God. Through a miraculous virgin birth, Jesus came to earth as a human being to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross, where His shed blood paid the penalty for our transgressions. God raised Jesus from the dead, and now, by grace, the free gift of eternal life is offered to all who receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Jesus Christ alone. We believe in Jesus' ascension to the right hand of the Father, His return in power and glory to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God’s kingdom on earth.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to lead a godly life. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth and teaches us all things. The gifts of the Holy Spirit (wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophesy, discerning of spirits, tongues and interpretation of tongues) is given for the profit of all.

The church, being more than a building, is the visible body of Christ sent into the world to glorify God and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. As part of the church, we believe in full immersion water baptism, anointing of the Holy Spirit and holy communion.
